The new-build Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel will mark the Avani brand’s hotel debut in Australia when it opens to guests in 2025.

The new hotel will place guests in a sought-after central location close to Mooloolaba beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Expansion in Australia

Asia’s fastest growing upscale hospitality brand, now with a portfolio of properties spanning Asia, the Middle East, Africa and beyond, Avani Hotels & Resorts is known for its contemporary style, laid-back feel and high-level service.

The first Avani hotel in Australia, the new Mooloolaba property will expand the brand portfolio in the region by joining the existing Avani residences in Adelaide, the Gold Coast and Melbourne.

Dillip Rajakarier, group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels, commented: “We have been keen to add an Avani hotel into our Australian portfolio for some time and have been scouting for a first-class location.”

“We feel confident this property ticks all the boxes for travellers seeking the upscale, contemporary experience offered by our international Avani Hotels & Resorts, and we expect it will be extremely well received within the Australian market.”

A new lifestyle hub

Designed by Cottee Parker Architects, Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel will feature 180 rooms catering for couples, groups and families as well as solo travellers.

Amenities within the property will include four distinct restaurant concepts, state-of-the-art meeting and conference facilities, a kids’ club, dedicated AvaniSpa and rooftop home to a pool, bar, restaurant and wedding venue with 180-degree water views.

Mooloolaba is located between Brisbane and Noosa and is known for its boutique retail and coastal restaurant scene.

Giving insight into the development, Rajakarier commented: “We were fortunate to work with Kenneth Wagner from KPAT to develop our Oaks Toowoomba Hotel, which opened in 2020, so we are excited to watch that team bring Australia’s first Avani hotel concept to life in such an exceptional location.”

Kenneth Wagner of KPAT added: “KPAT values our relationship with Minor Hotels and we are looking forward to breaking ground in 2023 and beginning this journey together to deliver a unique product to the Australian market in one of Queensland’s most sought-after destinations.”
