Ashya Group’s first hospitality project will bring 185 keys, 47 pool villas, and 50 residences to a Telangana reservoir, with doors opening in 2029

Minor Hotels has signed Anantara Jadcherla Hyderabad Resort, a 37-acre waterfront development in India’s Telangana state. The resort is scheduled to open in 2029 and will be the first hospitality project for Ashya Group, which also has interests in minerals, infrastructure, food, wellness, and social reform. The site is located outside Hyderabad, about 44 miles from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, which is roughly a 60-minute drive. The city center is about 56 miles away, or around an hour and a half by car.

Rooms, Residences, Dining, and Wellness

The resort will have 185 keys, with rooms starting at 48 square meters. Among them will be 47 pool villas, which range from 90 to 280 square meters. Another 50 branded residences are planned next to the resort for owners who want a permanent address on the reservoir. The design draws on the architecture of the Kakatiya Dynasty, which ruled the region historically. Stone construction and geometric patterns will appear throughout the public spaces and villas, with the regional style reworked for modern travelers.

The resort plans a mix of food, leisure, and meeting space for both vacationers and groups. Guests will find several places to eat and drink, along with the usual resort amenities. Event planners will have indoor and outdoor options for weddings, corporate gatherings, and similar functions. Planned facilities include:

  • An all-day dining venue, two specialty restaurants, and a wellness café
  • A lobby lounge and a poolside bar
  • An Anantara Spa, a fitness center, an outdoor pool, and a kids’ club
  • A ballroom, multiple breakout rooms, and an event lawn

Partners Explain the Approach

Shashider Reddy Munugala, Founder and Chairman of Ashya Group, said the project reflects a belief that hospitality “should be led by nature and its surroundings.” He added that the stone and the reservoir setting are meant to bring guests closer to the culture and landscape of Telangana.

William E. Heinecke, Chairman and Founder of Minor International, the parent company of Minor Hotels, said the waterfront location and design give the company room to build that sense of place properly. He said, “Partnering with Ashya Group on this project marks a significant step in strengthening our presence across Southern India.

Minor Hotels brought the Anantara brand to India in 2025 with the opening of Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur Hotel. The Jadcherla resort joins a pipeline that also includes Anantara Zanti Coorg Resort and Anantara Kolkata Hotel, both announced in April 2026. Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort, the first Avani-branded resort planned for India, was announced in 2025. The company is working toward a target of 50 properties in India within the next decade. Minor Hotels operates or has committed to more than 640 hotels, resorts, and branded residences across 67 countries.
