Also coming to the Dubai hotel market will be the 349 room Avalon Tower Hotel, in the destination’s Jumeirah Village Circle district. This will be branded under the group’s Copthorne flag on opening.

The group is also planning the launch of two hotels under its Millennium Place brand. The first of these will be in Dubai at Business Bay, part of The One development and is a four star property. First Group is developing the 18 storey block, with 492 rooms. In Qatar the group plans to open Millennium Place Doha. The project will feature 150 bedrooms, along with function space and food and beverage outlets, in a central city location.

Elsewhere in the region, in Turkey, a further 2024 launch is in the works for the new Millennium West Istanbul. A 314 bedroom property, it is already under construction. The hotel will join the group’s existing presence in the city, the Millennium Golden Horn Istanbul.

A pipeline into 2025

In 2025, the group expects to open a Grand Millennium resort in Danah Bay, on Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah. The upper upscale property, with around 300 bedrooms will feature a resort feel, with its beachside setting.
