Mercure turns heads in Auckland

A new Mercure hotel with 96 contemporary rooms, a fitness centre, a boardroom and a Mediterranean-themed restaurant and bar has opened in New Zealand’s largest city.

Mercure Auckland Queen Street will appeal to both business and leisure travellers looking for a base from which to explore New Zealand.

Accor expands down under

Accor, which is already the largest hotel operator in New Zealand, has added another property to its portfolio. The new Mercure Auckland Queen Street is centrally located within convenient reach of many of the city’s highlights, such as the Town Hall, Civic Theatre and Aotea Square, and boasts 96 keys in total.

Accor Pacific CEO Simon McGrath said: “We are proud to open a Mercure on Queen Street in vibrant Auckland, a wonderful addition to our portfolio of properties. Our Accor Live Limitless customers will enjoy the building’s incredible location, personality, charm and outstanding service. The hotel has been developed with skill and thoughtful detail, and will enrich Queen Street and the city’s accommodation and bar scene for our growing customer base.”

Attractive amenities

Mercure Auckland Queen Street stands out thanks to its eye-catching interiors, which include carefully curated wall panelling, furnishings and fixtures that reflect the property’s vibrant surroundings.

There’s also a fitness centre for those looking to stay in shape on the road, and a boardroom for meetings or small gatherings. At the heart of the four-star hotel, meanwhile, is The Basement Restaurant and Bar, where guests can sample the finest Mediterranean cuisine.
