Mercure goes into bat for new Lucknow site

Accor’s upper midscale brand, Mercure Hotels, is increasing its Indian footprint with a new signing in Lucknow.

Scheduled to welcome guests from April 2024, Mercure Lucknow Ekana Sportz City will be strategically located next to Ekana International Cricket Stadium, offering convenient access to the city’s major attractions, business districts, and transportation hubs.

Refreshing amenities

The newly signed hotel is under development by Meghalaya Hotels Pvt Ltd. Boasting 110 rooms, the property will feature an all-day dining restaurant, offering an array of local and international cuisines. Moreover, a lobby bar will provide a setting for guests to unwind and enjoy refreshing drinks.

One of the hotel’s notable attractions will be its Terrace Bar, where guests will be able to see city skyline views while sampling the beverage selection.

The modern facilities at the onsite spa and fitness centre will include massages and beauty treatments amongst other wellness services.

Indian pipeline

Mercure has hotels in more than 60 countries around the world. In India, parent company Accor currently operates 58 properties under the Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure and ibis brands.

The group has a strong pipeline of 25 Indian properties currently under development, including Raffles Jaipur, delivering 200 luxury keys this November; the 205-room Fairmont Agra, arriving in this northern city in Q1 2025; and further south, the 105-key Novotel Bhopal will open in 2026.
