The hotel management company added an impressive 19 properties to its management portfolio in 2021, increasing its presence in key markets across Florida, Georgia and Virginia.

After navigating the challenges brought about by the Covid crisis in 2020, McKibbon Hospitality switched its attention to expansion in 2021.

An upward trajectory

McKibbon grew its footprint over the past year by assuming management of 19 hotels throughout Florida, Georgia and Virginia, the company has revealed. The new additions – totalling 2,280 rooms – span select-service and extended-stay properties across various Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide and Hyatt Hotels Corporation brands.

Since the pandemic began in 2020, the company has assumed management of 27 new properties in total. This brings the company’s current portfolio to 96 schemes, which together comprise 11,097 keys.

In line with this growth, the company has built its workforce back to more than 2,300 associates, signifying its recovery and upward trajectory following the pandemic’s impact on hospitality.

“The growth that our company has experienced this year, both from a portfolio and associate perspective, has been very rewarding and motivating as we continue on the path to full recovery,” said Randy Hassen, president of McKibbon Hospitality. “We’re grateful for our dedicated associates and trusted partners who have helped us expand our reach this year.”

A busy year for McKibbon

New properties within the expanded portfolio include Hyatt House Tampa Airport / Westshore, Florida; Hilton Garden Inn Jacksonville Ponte Vedra Sawgrass, Florida; Hilton Garden Inn Tampa/Riverview/Brandon, Florida; Fairfield Inn & Suites Fort Pierce, Florida; Hampton Inn & Suites – Cape Coral / Fort Myers Area, Florida; Hampton Inn Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Hampton Inn Daytona/Ormond Beach, Florida.

The past year also saw the addition of Hampton Inn & Suites Tampa East (Casino Area), Florida; Hampton Inn Vero Beach, Florida; Hampton Inn & Suites Lady Lakes/The Villages, Florida; Hampton Inn Tampa Downtown Channel District, Florida; Home2 Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Channel District, Florida; Courtyard Atlanta Midtown, Georgia; Element Atlanta Midtown, Georgia; Hampton Inn & Suites Tallahassee Capitol – University, Florida; Hyatt House Tallahassee Capitol – University, Florida; Residence Inn Charlottesville Downtown, Virginia; Hampton Inn Savannah-Historic District, Georgia; and Holiday Inn Savannah Historic District, Georgia.

The company’s growth is expected to continue this year. Upcoming openings that’ll be managed by McKibbon upon completion include AC Hotel Jackson Ridgeland, Mississippi (January 2022); Home2 Suites by Hilton Wildwood/The Villages, Florida (mid-2022); and the McKibbon-owned and developed Hyatt House Orlando Airport, Florida.
