The food truck, dubbed Marriott on Wheels, started its journey in Mumbai and visited six more destinations around the country.
Marriott International recently launched the brand’s first-ever mobile food truck in India.
To celebrate, the vehicle has left on a journey from Mumbai to travel across the country and visit six more destinations, including Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Lucknow, Pune, Madurai and Kochi.
This promotional journey highlights just what makes the food truck so unique for Marriott—its mobility.
Where will Marriott on Wheels go?
Marriott on Wheels will be setting up shop in popular city centres where food trucks can commonly be found.
This includes Food Truck Park in Ahmedabad, Sahara Market Plaza in Lucknow and Info Park in Kochi.
Once it arrives at a destination, an executive chef from a Marriott hotel property nearby will come on board.
The chef will then prepare an exquisite menu which has been specially created for serving on the food truck.
The importance of sustainability
A trend that has swept through the global hospitality industry as of late is a focus on environmental sustainability.
In this regard, the Marriott on Wheels food truck is much like its stationary brethren.
Whereas hotels are busy switching to energy efficient lighting and no-waste setups, the food truck will have corresponding measures.
These include the use of eco-friendly items such as containers made of bagasse and glass water bottles, rather than plastic.
