Marriott International has signed an agreement with Neom to open three properties in the luxury island destination of Sindalah in the major Neom development taking shape in Saudi Arabia.

This island development in the Red Sea is set to welcome two Luxury Collection hotels and Saudi Arabia’s first property under Autograph Collection Hotels.

A new island destination

Marriott International has announced plans to open two Luxury Collection hotels and one property under the Autograph Collection Hotels brand on the luxury island destination of Sindalah in Saudi Arabia’s Neom development.

“Neom is one of the most highly-anticipated developments in the world and we look forward to working with its team to develop these three exciting properties,” said Jerome Briet, chief development officer, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International.

“The Luxury Collection and Autograph Collection Hotels properties will express their own unique personality inspired by the exceptional natural landscapes of Neom. We continue to see growth opportunities for our brand portfolio within the destination and Saudi Arabia overall.”

Chris Newman, executive director of hotel development at Neom, said: “Marriott International offers one of the most compelling portfolios in the entire industry and enjoys a stellar reputation in the region. We are thrilled by the prospect of working together and look forward to building a hospitality experience that captures the spirit of Sindalah’s year-long appeal, while creating unforgettable memories for our guests.”

Three different hospitality experiences

The development’s two Luxury Collection properties, which are expected to open in 2024, promise transformational experiences and destination-rooted authenticity. These properties include a 70-key luxury beach resort offering accommodation in rooms, suites and pool villas, and a second 115-key all-suite hotel set in the heart of the retail and marina district.

The Autograph Collection property in Sindalah, also expected to make its debut in 2024, will then be curated to provide immersive moments that leave a lasting impression. The hotel’s 66 rooms, suites and villas will be joined by multiple dining options, a spa and kids club.

Sindalah will be the first destination in Neom to start welcoming guests when it opens in 2024 and these three Marriott properties are expected to be the first hotels to open on the island. Sindalah is the first in a group of islands that are to be developed here.

The island is surrounded by a diverse ocean environment and home to facilities affording nautical experiences. The island will feature an 86-berth marina for yachts of up to 75 metres, as well as serviced offshore buoys for superyachts of up to 180 metres, along with a beach club, yacht club and 38 culinary concepts.
