The existing 117-room Grand Matlali Hills Resort & Spa resort in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico will be completely revamped to fit the new all-inclusive brand extension concept of Delta Hotels by Marriott.

Marriott International is continuing to explore the unique opportunities presented by conversions, much-loved by the owner and franchisee community, and has just added an eye-catching Mexican resort to its growing portfolio. We find out more.

Delta Hotels by Marriott’s vision for all-inclusive luxury

The hotel giant has signed an agreement to manage the first all-inclusive Delta Hotels by Marriott resort. Under the terms of the deal, Grand Matlali Hills Resort & Spa will be transformed to meet the all-inclusive brand extension concept of Delta Hotels by Marriott. The property, which will be rebranded and managed by Marriott in 2021, is also in line to be expanded to 300 rooms by 2023.

Following the upgrade, it’s envisaged that the project will fully embody the Delta Hotels by Marriott brand’s approach to the all-inclusive experience, with the help of six food and beverage outlets, a spa, a fitness room, and a beach club.

“We are excited to work with PB Puerto Bahia Residence,” said Laurent de Kousemaeker, chief development officer, Caribbean and Latin America for Marriott International. “The long-awaited Delta Hotels by Marriott all-inclusive brand extension standards are now ready, and perfectly suited for conversions of full-service resorts, allowing our 142 million Marriott Bonvoy guests soon to experience this new concept.”

A beautiful setting in Riviera Nayarit

Situated on a hillside in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle in popular Riviera Nayarit, the property enjoys an enviable location in one of Mexico’s prettiest destinations. It’s also very convenient for travellers to access, however, given that the site is located just 30 minutes from Puerto Vallarta airport.

“We are excited to sign a Delta Hotels by Marriott all-inclusive resort and work with Marriott International to manage the property,” said Armando Vejar, CEO of PB Puerto Bahia Residence. “By bringing this new concept and brand to Riviera Nayarit we hope to elevate the offering for visitors and attract a new segment of guests to the destination.”

Founded in 1962, Delta Hotels and Resorts is a leading Canadian first-class hotel management company and operates and franchises a diversified portfolio with 43 full-service, city centre and airport hotels and resorts under the Delta brand.
