W Hotels, Marriott International’s bold and daring luxury brand, will further grow its presence in the UAE with the opening of a striking 31-storey property in 2022.

Innovative programming and eclectic design are being planned for a major new scheme on Dubai’s sought-after Jumeirah Beach coastline.

Enhancing Dubai’s hospitality scene

Marriott International has signed an agreement with WASL Hospitality & Leisure, a subsidiary of WASL Asset Management Group, to open W Dubai – Mina Seyahi in 2022. This vibrant property promises to be an unmissable new landmark on the city’s ever-changing skyline.

“We are seeing increasing demand for luxury lifestyle brands in Dubai, and with its mix of culture and high-energy lifestyle, the emirate is the perfect destination for the trendsetting W Hotels brand,” said Candice D’Cruz, vice president of luxury brands in Europe, Middle East and Africa for Marriott International. “With its unexpected design and iconic, socially driven ‘Whatever / Whenever’ service, W Dubai – Mina Seyahi will become a destination within a destination.”

His Excellency Hesham Al Qassim, CEO of WASL Asset Management Group, added: “We are pleased to sign this agreement and introduce W Dubai – Mina Seyahi to the renowned Mina Seyahi complex in Dubai Marina. This new property, which is among several other Marriott International hotels that WASL brought and launched in the emirate, will be an exciting addition to Dubai’s hospitality sector.”

New lifestyle concepts

W Dubai – Mina Seyahi will place guests close to various highlights of the city, including Dubai Marina and JBR Walk. Rising 31 storeys high, it’ll house 318 guestrooms, including 26 suites and W Hotels’ take on a presidential suite, the Extreme Wow Suite.

Visitors will be greeted in The W Lounge (lobby), which here will take inspiration from Middle Eastern gathering spaces, offering plenty of opportunities to mingle over craft cocktails and food. Other standouts are set to include a sunset destination experience by the pool overlooking the Mina Seyahi bay and a signature venue commanding views of Palm Jumeirah Island from the 31st floor.

The brand’s approach to wellness will be in evidence with Feul at the heart of the BAR-B spa, and the Fit Fitness Centre will mark the UAE debut of sport-luxe fitness experience 1Rebel.

Marriott operates six W Hotels properties and residences across the Middle East. W Dubai – Mina Seyahi will be the luxury brand’s second site in Dubai.

“We are thrilled to strengthen our relationship with WASL Group to open W Dubai – Mina Seyahi in such an important leisure destination in Dubai,” said Sandeep Walia, chief operating officer in the Middle East for Marriott International. “This new hotel underscores our commitment to growing our luxury portfolio in the Middle East, while signifying the demand for the W Hotels brand in the region.”
