Marriott International has signed an agreement with AKYN Hospitality Group to bring the Courtyard by Marriott brand to Quy Nhon, an up-and-coming coastal destination on Vietnam’s south-central coast.

Courtyard by Marriott Quy Nhon will serve as a key component of a new mixed-use development in the heart of the city.

Local and international attraction

Scheduled to open in early 2025, the site promises to deliver high-class experience with international standards for locals as well as domestic and foreign tourists.

Accentuating contemporary design that encompasses comfort and functionality, Courtyard by Marriott Quy Nhon is expected to feature 362 thoughtfully designed guestrooms and suites with unobstructed ocean views. Accommodations include family rooms and suites to cater to parents travelling with their children. The hotel is slated to offer three contemporary dining outlets, including an all-day-dining restaurant with an open kitchen, a café, and a lobby lounge.

From wellness to work

Additional design plans call for a 25-m outdoor pool and a well-equipped fitness centre. The hotel’s spa features private treatment rooms, a sauna, and steam rooms. Catering to families is a kids club featuring an outdoor play area. Other planned facilities include 756 sq m of flexible function space, including a large ballroom and four breakout rooms for occasions from corporate conferences to weddings.

For business executives, The Residence is a flexible area that can be adapted to a variety of different functions. Largely open plan, this inviting space features working zones, intimate meeting rooms, casual seating clusters and personal booths, accompanied by printing stations and an F&B counter to maximise productivity.

Perfect fit

Marriott International’s area vice president – Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar, Jakob Helgen, said: “We are pleased to work with AKYN Hospitality Group, an avant-garde, dynamic hospitality group with an international mindset and local cultural wisdom. Courtyard by Marriott is the perfect fit for Quy Nhon, an emerging market with strong potential. This hotel represents a major milestone in the advancement of our expansion strategy in Vietnam.”

AKYN Hospitality Group CEO Tiffany Nguyen Thi Minh Thu commented: “We are delighted to deepen our relationship with Marriott International. By working with the world’s largest hotel group, we know our hotel will meet and exceed the highest levels of quality and service for every guest. We are also proud to introduce the well-known Courtyard by Marriott brand to Binh Dinh province. This highly sought-after region attracted five million visitors in 2019 and we fully expect it to become an important business and leisure hub in the years to come.”

True hospitality

AKYN Hospitality Group is also cooperating with Marriott International in several projects including The Westin Resort & Spa Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa) which will open in late 2022, a five-star hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and a resort in Phuoc Hai (Ba Ria-Vung Tau).

Thu added: “For our long-term strategy, AKYN intends to develop high-class brands including hotels and resorts managed by global hospitality management groups and our own new reputed bespoke brand to add value to the personalised service and care offered throughout Da Lat and Ho Tram’s properties.

“The collaboration with Marriott International strengthens our strategic global partnerships. With goodwill, clear ambitions and strong commitment, I look forward to taking the next steps towards our vision of unlocking new opportunities and delivering true hospitality to the Vietnamese and global tourism industry.”
