Marriott Opens Inaugural Aloft Brand in Australia
Marriott recently announced the opening of their first aloft brand in the Western Australian city of Perth. The opening will mark the hotel brand’s debut in the country, and will continue Marriott’s streak of innovation worldwide, in particular their focus on targeting millennials, the demographic towards which the aloft brand is aimed. TOPHOTELNEWS profiled the brand earlier this year, and Perth is a shrewd choice for Marriott as it is a city whose youth culture is steadily growing all the time.
The new Perth hotel is part of an urban renewal project and will be the focal point of the new Springs Riverdale community, on the banks of the Swan River and with easy access to the Perth Central Business District. The 4-star hotel will offer 224 new guest rooms and be in line with aloft’s policy of cultivating community by the provision of shared and communal spaces such as the fun WXYZ Bar, which will feature live and DJ sets by local artists, and the Re:mix Lounge, a social space for guests and locals. A splash of local flavour is another prominent feature of the hotel, and it will be decorated by native Australian artists and many of the design elements will be inspired by Perth itself.
“As the capital of Western Australia, Perth is a dynamic, growing city, and an important gateway to and from Asia, the Middle East and Europe. The city has an internationally focused export and tourism economy, so we look forward to welcoming business people and travelers from all over the world to our hotel,” said Stephen Morahan, General Manager of Aloft Perth.
