The new-build Munich Marriott Hotel City West is expected to open at the end of 2022 with a focus on catering for conferences and events.

The property is being developed with the target of becoming one of the most sought-after conference hotels in Germany.

A new conference hub

Munich Marriott Hotel City West will be located in the lively Westend district of Munich and a site that encompasses a state-of-the art conference centre as well as 402 guest rooms and suites and nearly 5,000 sq m of public space.

Commenting on the plans, Satya Anand, president of Marriott International in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “We are eagerly anticipating the debut of the Munich Marriott Hotel City West. This spectacular new-build hotel under the signature flag of Marriott Bonvoy’s 30 hotel brands, underscores our faith in the conference and events industry.”

“The hotel’s modern residential design, combined with Marriott Hotels’ mission to help locals and travellers alike be inspired and stimulate new ideas, will no doubt make this hotel the prime place to meet in Munich.”

Arnulf Damerau, chairman of the project’s investor, EuroAtlantic Group, added: “With the Munich Marriott Hotel City West, Bavaria will soon have a new international landmark and one of the leading conference hotels in Europe. Our long-term vision of building Munich’s most modern and inspiring event hotel, complete with outstanding gastronomic offers, will soon become a reality.”

Space for a diversity of events

The landmark hotel will house spacious, modern interiors with the design of Studio Lux Berlin taking inspiration from the Bavarian lifestyle. Smart, innovative technology will be integrated throughout the hospitality experience.

Planned conference facilities at this site span 21 flexible meeting rooms, a 1,000-sq-m ballroom with various configurations and hydraulic lifting platforms for high-profile product presentations, and the Greatroom lobby for social gatherings with Bavarian hospitality.

A highlight of this hotel is expected to be its roof terrace offering outdoor events and post-meeting drinks with views over the city and Bavarian Alps.

The surrounding area pairs historic sites such as Nymphenburg Castle with a number of leading global technology companies and abundant restaurants, cafés and bars. The main train station is also close by.
