The opening of Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja, which features 206 guestrooms and 44 suites, marks the Nigerian debut of the Marriott Hotels & Resorts flag.

This exciting property reflects the new global design vision of Marriott Hotels & Resorts, which aims to provide spaces for modern travellers to relax, work and find inspiration.

An enticing location

The brand-new Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja is now hosting guests in the heart of Lagos, just 15 minutes from Murtala Muhammed International Airport, and in the same area as The Shrine and Motherland African music entertainment hubs.

“We are excited to have opened the Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja, bringing Marriott Hotels’ transformed vision to Nigeria,” said Volker Heiden, area vice president – Sub Saharan Africa, Marriott International. “Lagos is a vibrant and bustling city with much to see and do for leisure and business travellers. What better place to debut the Marriott Hotels brand in Nigeria with its thoughtful service and intuitive spaces that enable guests to be inspired during their stay.”

“We are excited to welcome local residents and travellers to our inspiring space and look forward to creating experiences that nurture their creativity,” added Rudi Janse van Rensburg, general manager of Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja. “Guests at Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja will be able to free themselves of distractions when they step into our hotel, allowing them to focus solely on being the best they can be.”

A place to work, relax and socialise

The hotel comprises 206 spacious guestrooms and 44 suites with views over the city, each pairing contemporary decor with intuitive amenities and workspace. Visitors can expect to come across plenty of natural colours and local accents, offering a greater sense of place, during their stays.

Public spaces here include The Greatroom, providing a multifunctional space incorporating Nigerian heritage and crafts at the very heart of the hotel.

Elsewhere, the M Club caters for Elite members and Club paying guests, with services ranging from complimentary breakfast, evening drinks and hors d’oeuvres to the brand’s signature Mind Menu, designed to enhance mind and body. This 24-hour space also provides free wifi and printing services.

F&B establishments within the hotel include The Azure Grill Restaurant overlooking the pool terrace, Asian-fusion dining venue The Wakame and all-day buffet venue The Koriko & Co. And to unwind, guests can head to the tranquil spa with steam rooms and saunas, the fitness centre or the outdoor pool.

Last but not least, events both large and small can be accommodated across 1,380 sq m of flexible space, including the largest ballroom in Ikeja; there are six breakout rooms and nine event rooms in total.
