Apart from transformation into a dual-brand complex, the whole property is undergoing complete modernisation.

After extensive renovation, the former Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Center will become home to two hotels to cater to a wider audience.

One building, two brands: after extensive renovation, the former Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Center will become two hotels.

On top of the existing Sheraton brand, Marriott International will bring its main Marriott hotel brand to the property.

Redrawing the floorplan

The former Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Center consisted of three separate buildings.

Now, they will be split into The Frankfurt Airport Marriott Hotel with 233 guest rooms and the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Center with 779 guest rooms of various categories and sizes.

As part of the redesign, each of the two hotels will receive its own entrance and lobby area to provide the branded check-in experience. The area housing the new Frankfurt Airport Marriott Hotel will be completely transformed.

With the double brand strategy, Marriott International aims to offer guests more options and flexibility. The planned changes have already been discussed with and approved by the Le-Be Hotel Company at Frankfurt / Main mbH, who owns the building complex.

According to the TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION online database, 27 hotel projects are currently in the pipeline in Frankfurt, Germany:

Extensive modernisation of the entire property

Apart from the transformation into a dual-brand complex, the whole property is also undergoing complete modernisation.

Since May 2019, the building where the Frankfurt Airport Marriott Hotel will be housed has been closed for renovation.

In addition to the rooms and suites, the lobby and the M Club, an exclusive retreat for relaxing, working and networking around the clock, will be redesigned.

The Congress Centre, which can be used by guests of both hotels has also undergone extensive renovation.

Marriott Hotels and Sheraton are two of Marriott International’s best known and most internationally recognized brands, and I’m delighted that we can leverage the synergies and charisma of both brands to offer our guests a diverse choice and an even better hotel experience,” says Ralf Stresing, General Manager of the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Center, who will run both hotels in the future.

“After more than 44 extremely successful years on the market, with this dual-brand strategy, we now have the opportunity to redefine the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Center, which has consistently ranked among the top 10 best-selling hotels in Germany in recent years.”

Marriott International’s Germany portfolio includes eleven Marriott hotels and nine Sheraton hotels.

A total of ten hotels under six different brands are operated at the airports in Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Dusseldorf and Stuttgart.

Overall, Marriott International has more than 7,000 hotels and resorts in 132 countries and territories worldwide under 30 brands.
