Marriott and Delonix Group have announced eight signings and two openings, as part of a cooperation agreement signed last year.

Marriott doubles down on China

The properties will all be located in Mainland China and will leverage a franchising model. The signings will work to further the two companies’ cooperation deal, which was launched in January of 2024.

Under this agreement, Marriott and Delonix have been working together to grow Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio brand in mainland China. The parties anticipate that at least 100 properties could become part of the Tribute Portfolio over the coming years.

With these five additional agreements, Marriott continues steadily expanding its Tribute Portfolio brand presence in Mainland China.

The five new signings include a Grand House hotel in ShaoxingGrand New Century Hotel, Wenzhou, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel; Wonderland Resort, Shangrao Sanqingshan, a Tribute Portfolio Resort; Grand House, Jiangyin, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel; and Grand New Century Resort, Changxing, a Tribute Portfolio Resort. These projects are expected to open between 2025 and 2026.

Tribute debuts in multiple locations

This will bring the Tribute Portfolio brand to five destinations in China: Shaoxing, Wenzhou, Shangrao, Jiangyin, and Changxing.

Highlights include the Grand House hotel in Shaoxing, a 152-key property with views of the Yuling River, and the 346-room Grand New Century Hotel in Wenzhou, which will provide convenient access to major attractions such as the Wenzhou Museum and Wenzhou Grand Theater.

The brand will also be debuting in Hangzhou as part of the new spate of openings, with the 299-key Grand New Century Hotel, Hangzhou Boao in the heart of the Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou.

“The swift launch of eight projects within the same year as the announcement of our cooperation with Delonix Group demonstrates the owners’ recognition of our market insights, brand value, and ability to deliver strong returns,” said Gavin Yu, Chief Development Officer, Greater China, Marriott International.

Donglin Li, President, Greater China, Delonix Group, commented: “The launch of our first signed hotels underscores our confidence in deepening cooperation, establishing a pioneering model in China that merges franchising and brand affiliation. In the future, we expect to jointly launch more high-quality hotel projects and build a new engine for growth in the premium hotel market.
