Marriott is the latest global hotel group to sign up for a new hotel in Dubai Creek, adding its Marquis brand to a development in the Jewel of the Creek development.

Marriott has added to its presence in the Middle East by signing to brand a hotel in Dubai Creek under its Marquis brand.

The property is set within five towers looking across Dubai Creek, with opening scheduled for March 2024. Part of the Jewel of the Creek project, it has been built by Dubai Developments and leased by West F5 Investments, and will operate under a franchise agreement with Marriott International.

Growth for Aleph

Regional hotel management specialist Aleph Hospitality has been lined up to operate the property, building on its presence in the Middle East.

One of the leading third party hotel managers in the Middle East and Africa, Aleph currently manages nine properties across the region with a further signed pipeline of 11 new projects in locations including Cameroon, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.

Accommodation within the development includes 434 hotel rooms, and 156 serviced apartments, enjoying great views across Dubai Creek and the city skyline. There will be six bars and restaurants, conference and meeting spaces, a retail area, promenade and a marina with 85 berths.

Building a Dubai presence

For Marriott, the Marquis Dubai will add to an already significant presence. To date, the group has more than 50 hotels open across Dubai, across a wide range of the group’s brands. The group already has a presence with the Marquis brand in Dubai, at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, a hotel with 1,608 rooms in two blocks towering over Sheikh Zayed Road in the heart of the city’s downtown district.
