Mandarin Oriental to manage luxury hotel and residences in Istanbul by 2022 [Construction report]
Mandarin Oriental’s 2022 project in Istanbul’s Etiler district
This project marks the company’s second luxury hotel in the Turkish city and will include branded residences upon its opening
The Mandarin Hotel Group will soon manage a second luxury hotel in Istanbul, Turkey. It is set in the city’s exclusive Etiler residential area near Istanbul’s central business district.
This new project, scheduled to debut in 2022, is made up of three standalone towers and will feature both a hotel and branded residences.
One of the three towers will house Mandarin Oriental Etiler, Istanbul, with its 158 guestrooms and suites plus 16 serviced apartments. The remaining two will be home to the 251 luxury residences at Mandarin Oriental. UNStudio from Amsterdam has been appointed as master planner and architect.
“We are delighted to be announcing a second Mandarin Oriental property in Istanbul, together with an exciting luxury residential project. We look forward to extending further the Group’s presence in one of the world’s most historic and vibrant cities,” said James Riley, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental.
“Operating two complementary hotels in a single city is something the Group has already done successfully in Hong Kong and will soon do in London. We believe there is room for more than just one Mandarin Oriental hotel in certain select destinations around the world,” Riley goes on to explain.
The Mandarin Oriental Etiler, Istanbul’s luxurious amenities
Mandarin’s new hotel will have three restaurants and bars, as well as a selection of versatile meeting spaces which include outdoor areas and terraces ideal for hosting everything from business to leisure events.
The property will also have a fitness center and a spa in order to provide the group’s signature award-winning wellness programs which are always inspired by local treatments.
On top of this, the hotel will boast both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, adding yet another layer to the many amenities and features it provides its guests.
Refined residences on the shores of the Bosphorus
The Residences at Mandarin Oriental will feature some of the city’s most exclusive homes some of which come with private gardens overlooking the Bosphorus river.
Owners will also enjoy the legendary Mandarin Oriental service as well as direct access to the hotel facilities mentioned above.
In addition, there will be a full suite of bespoke resident facilities, including two outdoor swimming pools with city views, a fitness center and six spa treatment rooms.
The project is owned and developed by Astaș Holding A.Ş and Yapi & Yapi, making it their third venture with Mandarin Oriental after the award-winning Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum and Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul which is scheduled to open in 2020.
