Mama Shelter will open a new location in London’s Hackney neighbourhood in the near future to provide guests with a unique and eclectic hospitality experience inspired by an English cottage.
We find out more.
Mama Shelter to hit Hackney in October
Mama Shelter, Accor’s hip, urban lifestyle brand, will shortly land in the British capital.
Upon arrival to London’s trendy Hackney area, Mama Shelter London will bring 195 quirky rooms as well as fun, funky yet comfortable common areas to this part of London.
The hotel benefits from convenient access to transport hubs at Shoreditch and Bethnal Green, and is close to lots of the area’s art and design hotspots.
Guest rooms are designed to be as comfortable and familiar as your bedroom at home, but laid out to meet your technological needs, given the millennial demographic the hotel is geared towards.
Not your average hotel
Mama Shelter’s angle has always been to stand out from the crowd, and they do this by bridging the gap between hotel and hostel, offering the same mellow, communal vibe of a hostel, but with the more luxurious trappings of hotels in the guest rooms.
French designers Dion & Arles are behind the hotel’s concept, which is inspired by an English country cottage.
Guests will notice the quaint details such as Macramé wall hangings, wooden benches, lace doilies and woven cushions and lamps, all of which combine to create a warm and inviting feeling, like that of a cosy cottage interior.
Perfect for business or pleasure, Mama Shelter London has several meeting rooms ideal for getting some work done in the atelier-style spaces, before letting off some steam in the Japanese karaoke rooms.
The hotel’s generous restaurant space adds some hearty vibes to the mix, serving up home-cooked meals that will tingle your taste buds.
Those wishing to take a part of their trip home with them can hit the Mama Shelter shop and pick up some merch to remind them of their time in London.
