A decade-long plan is finally approaching fruition.
Environmental awareness is at the forefront of the furniture industry.
‘Sustainability’ is everywhere, but what does it mean for manufacturers such as EPOCA – Home, Palace & Hotel Concept?
One factor is the material origin.
Knowing where your specified materials come from is fundamental to creating sustainable projects.
EPOCA – Home, Palace & Hotel Concept has put the environment at the heart of its operations.
We put sustainability center stage, exploring and sharing our processes from the raw materials to the final product.
Our supply channels adhere to the same environmental, social, and economic standards so that we can provide that assurance to our customers.
At EPOCA – Home, Palace & Hotel Concept, we demonstrate our commitment to environmental sustainability through all our site-based operations.
These are managed to ensure compliance with our ISO Management system, which includes ISO 14001.
All the wood material used in our production is sourced according to legal requirements and sustainability standards, and we rigorously ensure that there is clear traceability to this. We can then pass this on to our customers via certification and chain of custody documentation, which we share.
From forest to furniture
Practices are genuinely sustainable when they meet the needs of people, protect the planet, and create economic impact.
As leaders in our industry, we aim to highlight the innovative (and traditional) best practices that make it possible for wood furniture making to sustain itself for generations to come.
EPOCA’s 2022 ECO-ACHIEVEMENTS
Numbers we are proud of.
Reclaimed wood is one of the most sustainable materials and is generally more sustainable than virgin wood. It extends the lifespan and carbon sequestration of already used wood, reduces the need to cut down forests, and has relatively short transportation distances and low manufacturing emissions.
At EPOCA – Home, Palace & Hotel Concept in 2022, we made:
– 102 tons of recycled wood
– 89% increase in recycling of wood waste
ENERGY – ZERO WASTE & PANELS
At EPOCA – Home, Palace & Hotel Concept, we are committed to electricity generation through innovative, efficient, profitable operating models based on the principles of circular economy, zero waste, and the decarbonization of industry.
We manage our power generation assets and biomass, implementing an efficient and profitable operating model.
Likewise, we are always attentive to any technical or technological innovation that might allow us to improve and develop our processes, all aimed at achieving more efficient management.
Energy recovery from particleboard waste that provides heating for the entire mill at EPOCA – Home, Palace & Hotel Concept in 2022:
– 20% reduction in energy consumed by the grid
– 30% energy self-sufficiency
PAPER AND CARDBOARD
Paper & cardboard recycling is critical as our industry uses millions of tonnes of paper, paperboard, and cardboard each year.
For each ton of non-recycled paper that is made, about 24 trees are used.
Not only does recycling save millions of trees, but it also saves 40% of energy in the manufacturing process.
At EPOCA – Home, Palace & Hotel Concept, we are humble about our results, aiming to do much more soon.
These are the 2022 results:
– 27 tonnes of recycled paper and cardboard
– 24% less paper consumption
A completely satisfied customer typically believes that the company excels, which is our goal. Having 87% of customers satisfied is only the beginning. Our teams work every day to exceed this percentage.
– 87% of satisfied customers
