The Hilton collection of independent luxury hotels is making its debut in Abu Dhabi with the development of a private island resort.

Al Nawras Island, LXR Hotels & Resorts will provide an experiential but leisurely stay through amenities including a beach club, water villas and a golf course.

Entry to UAE’s capital

The LXR Hotels & Resorts collection is set to make its mark in Abu Dhabi following the signing of an agreement for a resort on Al Nawras Island.

The 2023 opening resort will place guests in one of the UAE capital’s most recreational but tranquil areas, combining the appeal of a private island with easy access to the city.

While taking design inspiration from the locale, the resort will comprise 80 expansive beach and water villas, including a two-bedroom Royal Villa, and highlights including a state-of-the-art golf course.

“We’re delighted to be bringing LXR Hotels & Resorts to Abu Dhabi with Al Nawras Island,” said Carlos Khneisser, vice president, development, Middle East & Africa, Hilton. “The UAE’s burgeoning capital has established itself as a global hub in recent years and has seen incredible development in terms of hospitality, sports and tourism.”

“I believe Al Nawras Island will complement Abu Dhabi’s luxury hotel landscape perfectly and we look forward to guests experiencing this unique property.”

Representative of the locale

Exploration, expression and wellbeing will be the focus here with recreational facilities including a fitness centre, one indoor and two outdoor swimming pools, tennis and paddle courts, a beach club and spa. The resort will also have a private marina.

Family travellers will be catered for with a kid’s club, dedicated swimming pool and splash pad, as well as playground. Guests will have two signature restaurants with al fresco dining areas to choose between, along with two bars and a wellness-inspired cafe.

Reflecting its place in the LXR collection, the resort will represent its setting while also offering unique travel experiences.

Feisal Jaffer, global head, LXR Hotels & Resorts, said: “Abu Dhabi is a renowned luxury destination where visitors and local residents alike seek out exceptional moments and personalised service.”

“That’s precisely what our guests will experience at Al Nawras Island — a truly bespoke and exemplary resort, and one that we are proud to add to the growing global LXR collection.”

LXR defines luxury through rich, meaningful experiences, not simply the trappings of opulence.
