Lux Collective announces details of new luxury resort in East Africa

The Lux Collective and ZK Venture Company have signed a hotel management agreement for the first LUX* property in East Africa.

Following this milestone signing for the global hospitality group, the rebranded beachfront property is operating as LUX* Marijani Zanzibar from July 2023.

Entry to East Africa

LUX* Marijani Zanzibar will now provide a luxurious new eco-minded retreat on the northeast coast of Zanzibar in the resort area of Pwani Mchangani.

Cultural connection

Overlooking the Indian Ocean, this boutique resort reflects Arabic inspiration through its modern architecture and design. The property is home to 82 spacious rooms and suites along with an array of luxury facilities.

Designed for business, leisure and events such as weddings, the resort encompasses restaurants serving both international and local cuisine, a spa offering holistic wellness experiences, a swimming pool and meeting and event space.

From the resort, guests can explore local sites such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site Stone Town, Old Fort Zanzibar and 19th Century Hamamni Persian Baths, with other nearby experiences including the Jozani Forest nature trail and a Spice Farm tour. The property is one hour from Abeid Amani Karume International Airport.

The Lux Collective currently manages 17 hotels and resorts that are in operation across Mauritius, the Maldives, Ile de la Reunion, China and Tanzania. Another 12 hotels are currently in the development pipeline across Asia and the Middle East.
