LRE & Companies reveals plans for major Rocklin development

The real estate development, asset manager, construction and hotel management company, LRE & Companies has revealed plans for University Square in Rocklin, California.

This 10-acre mixed-use development project comprising both retail and hospitality components is slated to reach completion by the end of 2025.

Growing the community

The developer’s first project in the city, and second in Placer County, University Square will bring new energy to the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and University Avenue in Rocklin.

“University Square is another example of us following through with our approach of developing at dynamic intersections in growing markets we have identified over the years as a developer on the West Coast,” said Akki Patel, CEO of LRE & Companies.

“We are proud to be a part of Rocklin’s ongoing development and committed to driving growth and progress in the community with this mixed-used development, offering a range of retail and hospitality options for residents and travellers.”

This project is to the east of the 8,497-acre Sunset Area development centred around a new California State University, Sacramento and Sierra College campus.

“This part of Rocklin is seeing tremendous growth,” said Victor Chiang, VP of development at LRE & Companies. “By prioritising smart growth and responsible development practices, we can create something special that will stand the test of time. We are honoured to be involved in shaping the future of the Rocklin community.”

Designed for residents and travellers

On completion, University Square will encompass over 20,000 sq ft of retail space and 5,000 sq ft of quick service restaurants with drive-thrus, along with a 123-room Hilton Garden Inn, daycare centre, convenience store and car wash.

The development lies adjacent to the build-to-rent townhome community, Estia Rocklin, and across the street from William Jessup University. From the development, visitors will be able to access other sites in Rocklin such as the city’s downtown community gathering space, Quarry Park, for rock climbing, paddle boats and ziplining.

Rocklin has abundant open space with walking trails and the city is home to both Sierra College and William Jessup University. The city is a 20-minute drive from Folsom Lake, 30 minutes from downtown and Old Sacramento and less than two hours from Lake Tahoe and San Francisco.

Adding to the development’s appeal, the project is within two miles of most of the area’s major employers and less than seven miles from another of LRE & Companies’ commercial development projects, the November 2022 announced Roseville Junction, which is to be home to two select-service hotels, three restaurants, outdoor space and an entertainment and sports complex.
