A 126-room hotel in Colorado is preparing to showcase the results of a six-month renovation by Stonehill Taylor when it reopens this November in time for the next ski season.

This welcoming hotel next to Wagner Park at the heart of Aspen is coming towards the end of a top-to-bottom refresh by Stonehill Taylor.

A property-wide transformation

On reopening in November 2021, Limelight Hotel Aspen will accommodate visitors across 126 refreshed guestrooms and suites, as well as a revamped lounge, conference room, lobby and bar.

Upgrades and improvements to the hotel include a transformed arrival experience, with the relocation of the reception area and surrounding retail, as well as the expansion of seating for dining and moving of the stage area in the lounge. Additional amenities include a new Kids Club area.

Guests staying here will benefit from an expanded continental breakfast, complimentary in-town transportation and adventure concierge, free activities for guests, an outdoor pool and hot tubs.

Design paying tribute to the area

The renovation is being led by New York City-based luxury design firm Stonehill Taylor, which also designed the 2018 opened Limelight Hotel Snowmass in the Centennial State. Limelight Hotel Aspen’s concept is shaped by the setting’s past and present, paying tribute to the city’s legacy as a centre of innovation.

Stonehill Taylor’s work ultimately aims to capture the spirit of the mountain setting and express the brand’s ethos as a ‘homebase in the places you want to explore’.

“The Aspen property sets a key tone for all Limelight properties,” said Abby Bullard, senior interiors associate with Stonehill Taylor. “This renovation will infuse the iconic Limelight hotel with a new spirit of vibrancy, bringing in high-quality furnishings and finishes, with metallic accents, pops of bright colour and the artful use of natural material. The property boasts a decidedly contemporary feel – a casual yet sophisticated take on outdoor adventure.”
