In 2021, Lift Design Inc created and produced custom-etched elevator door skins for a world-class luxury destination, with sustainability at its core. Southall is the evolution of traditional Southern hospitality, an authentic working farm with an inn, restaurant and spa located on 325 acres of lush and rolling hills just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. It will open in spring 2022.
Working closely with Los Angeles-based Indidesign, our team developed a style, pattern and finish that reflect’s Southall’s deep connection to its land. This aligned vision resulted in six stunning pairs of elevator doors, each with a hand-designed pattern etched in bronze and toned with antique finish and black lacquer accents.
Artist Christian Heckscher, principal designer of Lift Design Inc, and Beatrice Girelli, principal designer of Indidesign, have collaborated on many prestigious projects, such as Grand Hyatt Singapore, Hilton’s The Grand Islander Waikiki Honolulu and Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.
