European growth

The contemporary lifestyle hotel brand, art’otel, which is owned by PPHE Hotel Group and a part of Radisson Hotel Group, is set to expand across Europe with the creation of these three new hotels scheduled for late 2023 and early 2024 debut.

These three hotels will join the brand’s existing properties in Amsterdam, Berlin, Cologne and London Battersea Power Station, with the hotels in Berlin and Cologne also set to benefit from an investment programme this year.

Boris Ivesha, president and CEO of PPHE Hotel Group, said: “Expanding our presence for art’otel in these key European capitals has been an exciting and ambitious project. We’re focused on bringing our guests memorable experiences with one-of-a-kind hotels in the world’s best and most vibrant cities.”

New art-led openings

Of these new hotels, the 110-key art’otel Zagreb will launch in the Croatian capital in autumn 2023 with the brand’s signature fusion of art, design and hospitality. The hotel will be located in the city centre, within the Art Deco Jewish Liturgical Municipality building, built by Freudenreich and Deutsch in 1928. Guests can expect a restaurant and bar, meeting space, a spa, indoor pool and rooftop bar.

In spring 2024, art’otel Rome is then set to mark the brand’s entrance to Italy with its debut in a prime location just moments from the Spanish steps. The result of a redevelopment of a former hotel, the property will house a destination restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace and art gallery.

Also in early 2024, art’otel will launch its second London site with the opening of art’otel London Hoxton. Designed by Squire & Partners, this site taking on a 27-storey cylindrical form will occupy a prominent corner of the South Shoreditch Conservation Area.

At this London property, guests will be able to take in views across the capital from design-led space including 357 guest rooms, including 60 suites, a destination restaurant and bar, art gallery, event space, auditorium and indoor pool. The British street artist D*Face has been named signature artist for the hotel.
