Langham names Jack Xiao as Operations SVP

Langham Hospitality Group has named Jack Xiao as Senior Vice President of Operations in China.

Strong hospitality background

Stationed at the company’s Shanghai office, Mr. Xiao will oversee LHG’s mainland China portfolio of hotels and resorts while also supervising the group’s functional teams for the market, including Sales, Revenue, Food & Beverage, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, and Design and Technical Services.

Reporting directly to LHG’s Chief Executive Officer, Bob van den Oord, Mr. Xiao brings a wealth of experience to the role backed by a proven track record of hospitality industry success gained through key positions with Accor, Wanda Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Yongle Huazhu, among other companies. 

Mr. Xiao also served as a guest professor at Jiangsu Union Vocational College, Suzhou Vocational Technology School, Suzhou Open University and Hangzhou Normal University.

Lo Young to retire

“I have great confidence in Jack’s ability to take our operations in mainland China to new heights. With his profound expertise in business strategy, operations and asset management, I am certain that he will have a significantly positive impact on our company,” Mr. van den Oord said.

The new appointment comes as Lo Young steps down to retire after close to seven years of valued service as the group’s Regional Vice President – China, Macau, Taiwan, and most recently as its Senior Vice President – Operations, China.

“I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to Lo Young, who has been an invaluable member of our mainland China team,” Mr. van den Oord added. “We wish him the very best with his well-deserved retirement”.
