The shores of Lake Conroe are home to a new development offering guests the chance to enjoy the first Texas-based property in Margaritaville’s expanding hospitality empire.

With 335 keys and no fewer than five restaurants and bars, the new Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe | Houston is certainly turning plenty of heads in Texas.

We find out more about this 20-storey property and its exceptional leisure offering.

A new lakeside getaway

Developed as a joint venture between Songy Highroads (SHR) and The Wampold Companies, Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe | Houston boasts 303 luxurious suites and 32 lakefront cottages. Washed oak finishes and playful colour accents create a relaxing getaway vibe with a tropical feel, and this laid-back atmosphere also spills over into the property’s vast outdoor area, covering 186 waterfront acres (75 hectares).

Here, guests can enjoy a variety of activities including golf, water sports and tennis. Heated pools, waterslides, a miniature golf course and pickleball courts are ideal for families, while there are five signature Margaritaville-inspired restaurants and bars too, anchored by LandShark Bar & Grill.

A vast gym, the expansive St Somewhere Spa and an International Association of Conference Centers-approved meeting space complete the hotel’s offering.

“It’s exciting to be the first resort to introduce the Margaritaville lifestyle to the Lone Star State, offering a quick, drivable escape from major cities like Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio,” said Lisa Fasbender, general manager of Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe | Houston. “We look forward to welcoming our guests and providing a safe haven to escape, unwind, and enjoy the laid-back lake life.”

Developed and run by experienced partners

Longtime collaborators SHR and Wampold are the resort’s co-managing partners, although Lake Conroe is their first Margaritaville property.

“We are thrilled this project has finally come to fruition,” said Todd Nocerini, SHR’s president. “The Margaritaville brand is timeless, anchored by a loyal community, second-to-none entertainment and guaranteed guest satisfaction.”

The new Margaritaville Lake Resort is being operated by Benchmark Resorts & Hotels under the management of Benchmark, a global hospitality company. McCarthy Building Companies served as the general contractor while Gensler took on the role of architect.
