Raffles Hotels & Resorts is bringing an enchanted stay to the shores of Lake Como—and it’s truly one-of-a-kind

Raffles Hotels & Resorts, a luxury brand of Accor, has recently announced plans to bring its brand to the highly coveted Lake Como region, marking Raffles’ first property in Italy. Developed in partnership with CL Hotel SPA, and with UniCredit as the financial partner, Raffles Lake Como is scheduled to open in 2027.

Omer Acar, CEO of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, said, “Raffles Lake Como represents a milestone for Raffles as our first property in Italy and fifth hotel in Europe, underscoring our commitment to thoughtful growth in highly sought-after resort destinations. Raffles is world-renowned for its elegance, gracious service, and inspirational guest experience, and we are thrilled to bring these hallmarks to one of the world’s most glamorous havens. We look forward to working with CL Hotel SPA, visionary partners who share a commitment to creating a truly unique and exceptional resort.”

Italian glamour, Raffles style

Located on the exclusive western shore of Lake Como in Moltrasio, Raffles Lake Como will be a complete renovation and conversion of the former Grand Hotel Imperiale, a stunning art nouveau villa from the 1920s—with one of the largest shorelines in the region!

The luxury resort will be designed to reflect the elegance of the Raffles brand and the vibrancy of Italian culture. It will offer 84 total rooms, including 18 suites and 2 private villas—many of which have stunning views of the lake—and access to the brand’s world-renowned butler service. It will even be the perfect place for weddings and celebrations, as well as private social and corporate events, with plans for ample meeting space, grand gardens, and a magnificent lawn overlooking the lake.

Guests will be able to enjoy exquisite lakeside culinary experiences, along with a signature Raffles Long Bar and Writers Bar. For those seeking everything leisure-related, the resort will include both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a state-of-the-art spa, a fitness center, and a beach club. Even more, guests will enjoy private lake access . . . with a unique arrival and check-in experience directly from the water! (Are you like me and didn’t even know this was possible?!)

Raffles’ global growth pushes forward

Raffles Lake Como will mark the brand’s fifth hotel in Europe, joining Raffles London at The OWO, Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris, Raffles Europejski Warsaw, and Raffles Istanbul. With a focus on growth in strategic urban and leisure destinations, Raffles has recently announced Raffles Tokyo and Raffles Goa Shiroda.
