Kimpton Hotels is taking over Texas: the stylish brand recently announced its newest project in the Lone Star State, and it’s going to be a looker!

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has announced plans to open a third hotel in Texas at the end of 2022.

The hotel, which will be in Houston, will see the San Francisco-based company partnering with the Australian real estate developer Caydon. The property will be opened within Laneways, which is a planned mixed-use development by Caydon.

“Houston is the ideal place to expand our Texas footprint,” said Kimpton CEO Mike DeFrino. “Midtown is quickly solidifying its place as the heart of the city, and its diverse cosmopolitan vibe fits perfectly with Kimpton’s brand of hospitality.”

As of now, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants operates over 60 hotels and 80 restaurants, bars and lounges in the U.S., Europe, the Caribbean and Greater China.

More about Kimpton’s new Houston hotel

Kimpton’s new hotel in Houston will be a beauty. The hotel and restaurant’s design will be led by Kimpton’s global SVP of design, Ave Bradley who will partner with the architecture group, The Preston Partnership.

When completed, this new property is slated to have 204 guestrooms, as well as a signature restaurant, a cafe, a rooftop pool and bar, and more than 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting spaces.

Ultimately, the property will join two other Kimpton hotels in Texas: the Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt in Austin and the Kimpton Pittman Hotel in Dallas, the latter of which is slated to open next summer.

Laneways – Houston’s newest mixed-use development

Laneways, the home of Kimpton’s newest project, is slated to break ground in early 2020 and will mark the first development for Caydon in the United States.

The 2.5 million-square-foot development is expected to span three city blocks and feature a high-rise residential tower, ground-floor retail, public outdoor spaces and walkable laneways lined with shops, bars, coffee houses and art galleries.

The company’s in-house team, Caydon Architecture and Design, will curate Laneways’ conceptual design.
