Marriott International has struck a deal to bring its prestigious luxury brand to South America’s largest city by converting an existing property in São Paulo’s new financial district.
JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo is set to make its debut later this year.
Making a mark in São Paulo
Maryland-based hotel group Marriott International has signed an agreement to convert an existing luxury property on Avenida Nações Unidas in the Class A, Leed-certified mixed-use complex Parque da Cidade into JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo. The scheme, located in a prime position within the city’s new financial district, is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2022.
“We are thrilled to continue expanding our longstanding presence in Brazil in the luxury segment and with one of our flagship brands,” said Bojan Kumer, regional vice president, Marriott International. “Brazil is a key and strategic market in our portfolio and today’s signing further underscores our growth commitment to the country. We look forward to positioning JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo as the leading luxury hotel in the city and country.”
An urban retreat
Marriott’s first luxury hotel in São Paulo is expected to house 258 spacious guestrooms, along with a restaurant, lounge / bar, spa with five treatment rooms, indoor-outdoor pool and fitness centre. On top of this, the property will host meetings in six spaces, altogether spanning more than 1,000 sq m.
Parque da Cidade, and São Paulo in general, is burgeoning as a global hub for business following an influx of global companies to the area, creating greater demand for hotels. Staying true to the brand’s philosophy of holistic wellbeing, this JW Marriott hotel aims to provide an oasis within the city, offering wellbeing programmes designed to allow guests to nourish their body, revitalise their spirit and be present in the moment.
