Jumeirah Group has announced the opening of its new Jumeirah Muscat Bay resort in Oman.

The five-star, new-build property places guests in the secluded cove of Bandar Jissah between the Hajar mountains and Gulf of Oman.

A new lifestyle destination

Located 15 minutes outside the capital Muscat, Jumeirah Muscat Bay combines the serenity of its locale with easy access to the historic and natural sites found nearby.

The property is a part of Oman’s only fully integrated resort village, which pairs its picturesque surroundings, landscaped gardens and parkland with luxury Omani hospitality and modern conveniences including shops, restaurants, pools and kids play areas.

Commenting on the opening, José Silva, CEO of Jumeirah Group, said: “Oman is a popular destination for those looking to combine nature and wellness with cultural interest.”

“At Jumeirah Muscat Bay, we have focused on taking cues from the natural landscape and its restorative energy and have brought this to life through design and architecture and in keeping with the hallmarks of Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, our innovative dining concepts, signature service and exceptional experiences are well represented throughout this resort.”

“As we continue to expand our portfolio, we are delighted to open the doors to this beautiful resort and bring our brand promise of Stay Different, for the first time to Oman.”

Experiencing the resort and its surroundings

The new Jumeirah resort encompasses 206 spacious rooms and suites, all with ocean views, including connecting rooms for families. Five additional two- to four-bedroom summerhouses and a Sanctuary Villa heighten the accommodation offering with private pools, access to a private beach and butler service.

The interiors of the resort blend traditional Omani craftsmanship with modern hotel design and a celebration of the natural setting.

Amenities within the property include five dining venues overseen by culinary director Claudio Dieli, including the ocean-side multi-cuisine restaurant Peridot, the Tarini lounge serving afternoon tea, poolside eatery Zuka and the intimate Anzo bar and terrace. The signature restaurant Brezza, with culinary creations from chef de cuisine Cristiano Goattin, is on track to opening in September.

Guests will be able to unwind in Talise Spa, home to eight individual and two couple treatment rooms as well as a hammam, sauna, steam room and the Pedi: Mani: Cure Studio by Bastien Gonzalez.

During their stay, guests will be able to explore the surroundings through excursions such as hiking and biking through the Hajar mountains and scuba diving, sailing and snorkelling from the PADI-certified diving and water sports centre. Additional activities at the hotel include tennis and yoga.
