JdV by Hyatt launches sophomore property in Canada
Boasting 92 rooms and an impressive F&B programme, The Walper Hotel, a JdV by Hyatt Hotel has made its long-awaited debut in Kitchener, Ontario.
The Walper Hotel, a JdV by Hyatt Hotel has become the second Canadian outpost of Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s upscale brand after Toronto’s The Anndore House, which was only unveiled in April 2021.
A historic property gets the Hyatt treatment
JdV by Hyatt, a collection of independent, free-spirited hotels designed to appeal to travellers of the same ilk, has grown its footprint with the addition of The Walper Hotel to its ranks.
This historic property dates back to 1893 and was given Heritage Distinction status in 1983. It has hosted a plethora of famous guests down the years, including Eleanor Roosevelt, Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong, and is now getting a new lease of life as part of the JdV by Hyatt family.
“We are excited to welcome guests to experience the JdV by Hyatt brand’s heartfelt commitment to inspire playful travel through neighbourhood connections in the City of Kitchener,” said Ann Marie Faria, general manager of The Walper Hotel. “The Walper Hotel’s guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in our diverse destination while enjoying our eclectic boutique hotel’s joy-driven service.”
The Walper Hotel’s key amenities
Hyatt is billing The Walper Hotel as ‘a premiere wedding and leisure destination for Waterloo region and Ontario residents’. The property’s flexible event spaces include a decadent ballroom, while its varied F&B offering encompasses the TWH Social restaurant, the Lokal Cocktail Lounge drinking den and The Barrister’s Lounge breakfast room.
Last but not least, the hotel features 92 well-appointed guestrooms.
