Europe has been a hospitality market on the rise as of late, with a robust and growing project pipeline, and as such many prominent hotel companies are working hard to expand into and within the market.
One such company is Interstate Hotels & Resorts, which continues to rapidly expand its own footprint in Europe. Interstate Hotels & Resorts most recent effort to do so involved opening four new hotels in Europe as well as a regional office in Amsterdam, with both moves serving as major signs of its commitment in Europe.
Interstate Hotels & Resorts Continued Expansion in Europe
Interstate is moving full steam ahead in Europe, solidifying its position as the only dedicated hotel management services company with global scale and a comprehensive pan-European operating platform. To support its growing presence in continental Europe, Interstate has recently assembled in Amsterdam an above-property regional team of high quality, dedicated and passionate industry leaders in operations, sales and marketing, revenue management, finance, and human resources.
Earlier this year, Interstate joined forces with Borealis Hotel Group, a leading Dutch hotel owner, developer and lease partner, signing 12 hotels under development. With five Borealis hotels now operating, Interstate continues to add to its outstanding portfolio of uniquely located and stylish hotels in top-travel destinations.
What the Stakeholders Are Saying
Interstate Hotels & Resorts president and CEO Mike Deitemeyer had the following to say about his company’s ongoing European expansion efforts: “Interstate’s energy in Europe is indicative of the momentum coursing through the company. Aggressive efforts to expand our reach with important European hotels demonstrate our commitment to providing the best hospitality services in the world.”
Meanwhile, Borealis Hotel Group CEO Bart van de Kamp had this to say: “Interstate continues to be an exceptional, owner-centric manager who shares in our strategic goal of spearheading hospitality excellence and superior service across Europe.”
The European Project Pipeline
It’s easy to see why this accelerated interest in Europe continues.
Looking at a report from the TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION database, one gets the picture of a European hotel project pipeline that is currently robust and thriving. In fact, according to that report there are at present 1,448 projects in Europe’s pipeline that once completed will yield 237,309 rooms.
This, perhaps most notably, gives Europe more upcoming individual projects than North America and the United States, which is also behind the Asia/Pacific market in that regard. The North American market has 1,320 upcoming projects. It is still ahead of Europe, however, when it comes to total rooms with 284,105.
The Asia/Pacific market leads all by a pretty sizable margin with 1,979 projects that once completed will yield 466,460 rooms.Let’s take a look at a few projects currently underway in Europe:One&Only Portonovi , Montenegro
