The next edition of interihotel, the leading event on hotel and restaurant design in Europe, will be held from 19 to 21 November at IFEMA Madrid.

interihotel is the international event held in Spain aimed at hotel and restaurant design professionals. Hosted by AMBIT Living Spaces Cluster, it has become the most important event in Europe in the area of hospitality design and an unmissable event for interior design and architecture professionals looking for the latest trends and innovative solutions for the sector.

Its value proposition, with a focus on design, is what makes it unique and singular. It consists of a perfect mix of “boutique event”, “congress”, “innovation and trends”, “awards” and “business”. 

“Supernova, catalyzing hospitality design”

This is both the headline and the creative concept which articulates this edition of interihotel. A supernova is an extremely bright and energetically intense stellar explosion that occurs at the end of the life of a massive star. This phenomenon plays a fundamental role in cosmic evolution by releasing energy and spreading essential chemical elements for the formation of new stars and planets.

A supernova is alive for just a few days, but its consequences endure for a huge amount of time. interihotel, just like a supernova, is an ephemeral event that unleashes transformative energy, dispersing essential ideas and projects for shaping a bright future in the hospitality sector.

This idea will be adressed at interihotel MAD24 through three challenging topics: BLOOM Design, focused on the power of design as a catalyst for memorable projects and experiencies, IMPACT Design, or how design influences collective consciousness and generates positive impact in the world, and VISIONARY Design, the intersection between innovation and technology to shape the future we desire.

Luxury design studios respond to the needs of future travelers

AMBIT Cluster’s (the event’s organizing entity) Interiors Living Lab is materialised at interihotel in physical Concept Rooms. These spaces are used to analyse usability, user interaction with objects and their emotional response to interior design, using neuromarketing techniques. The aim is to gather new knowledge on how to respond, from the interior design point of view, to the needs of the new customer profiles and, therefore, to plan what hospitality spaces will be like for the new travellers in the future. The challenge of designing this edition’s Concept Rooms, which has been inspired by two hotel groups (VP Hoteles & Coolrooms), has been accepted by Zooco Estudio and El Equipo Creativo, two of the most prestigious and awarded interior design studios from Spain.

An exclusive schedule of conferences, debates and workshops with the industry leaders

More than 125 speakers will help visitors to stop, find inspiration, connect and think. The conference programme will feature as keynote speakers, among others, Jordi Iranzo & Àngela Montagud (co-founders of Clap Studio), Ana Milena Hernandez & Christophe Penasse (co-founders of Masquespacio), Erik Harley (expert in urban studies), Dimitris Karampatakis (co-founder of K-Studio), Karim Rashid (president at Karim Rashid Inc.) or Joao Albuquerque (partner at Bjarke Ingels Group).

A design event with plenty of business

interihotel is the best learning and business space for the hotel & restaurant design industry: it offers a carefully curated exhibition space, which in this edition will welcome up to 250 brands, and it attracts more than 2.100 professionals with hospitality projects looking for suppliers. Additionally, the event expects more than 9.000 attendees, 80% of whom have purchasing or specifying power, from more than 50 countries.

Awards

The interihotel awards recognise the efforts of those who contribute to improving the sector in 6 categories: innovative product for hotel and restaurant design, sustainable product for hotel and restaurant design, best stand design at interihotel, best hotel design project, best restaurant design project and recognition for professional career in hotel and restaurant design. As in previous editions, the jury for the awards will be made up of people appointed from entities representing the hotel, architecture, interior design, design and academic industries in the city of Madrid.
