Canopy by Hilton has a host of new initiatives and projects in the works. We check them out.

Canopy by Hilton now has five open properties, with a further 30 in the works. What is it about this big brand lifestyle hotel that makes it so appealing? We find out, with the help of Gary Steffen, Global Head of Canopy by Hilton.

Canopy by Hilton

Canopy by Hilton is a great choice for guests looking for a truly local experience. In recent years, the hotel trend that has perhaps dominated the most is one that seeks out the best elements a destination has to offer and uses this as the starting point for the identity and services of the hotel. Canopy by Hilton is a fresh, energetic and thoughtfully crafted hotel experience that focuses heavily on its location and gives customers a host of unexpected extras. Its hotels act as part of the neighbourhood they are in, drawing in both local residents and new customers who want to experience the most positive aspects of the community.

Canopy hotels in Portland and Dallas

Two of Canopy’s existing hotels, those in Portland and Dallas, will be at the frontline of a range of new services that the brand will be offering. These hotels already have a deep engagement with their local areas: Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District draws on the city’s industrial regeneration, while Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptownchannel’s Dallas’ shopping and entertainment district. These two properties will benefit from Canopy’s new Welcome Gifts service, which offers a rotating menu of sweet treats for visitors upon arrival. The new Canopy Central welcome lobby will present the best local fare, allowing guests to indulge in speciality food and beverage tastings.

Keeping it local with Canopy Enthusiasts

Perhaps the most thrilling aspect of Canopy is the presence on site of Canopy Enthusiasts, experts in local knowledge who have the inside track on what the best bars, restaurants, clubs, museums and galleries in each neighbourhood and city are. Canopy prides itself on not just saying that they are locally involved, but actually proving they are, and sharing this knowledge with their customers. They put together unique cultural itineraries for their guests, and for those clients who want to travel with their pets, Canopy is also starting a new initiative called Paws in the Neighbourhood, which partners with a local animal agency to bring pets their very own beds, treats and activities within the hotel so you never have to look for a dog sitter again.

Canopy by Hilton pipeline

Gary Steffen, Global Head of Canopy by Hilton, says that Canopy by Hilton has big plans for expansion in the coming years. He says, “With the openings of Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District and Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown, we have doubled our footprint in the Americas, and now have a total of five properties in the portfolio, including Reykjavik and Washington D.C.’s Bethesda North and The Wharf neighborhoods. Canopy by Hilton has an aggressive pipeline of almost 30 hotels scheduled to open in the next six years in neighborhoods like Zagreb, Chengdu, Atlanta Midtown, Kuala Lumpur, another Dallas property in the Frisco Station neighborhood and more.”

Let’s take a look at a few other projects currently underway by Canopy by Hilton:

Canopy by Hilton Baltimore Harbor Point

Canopy by Hilton Bordeaux Chartrons

Canopy by Hilton Cape Town Longkloof
