Indian hotel group ITC’s Fortune Hotels division has signed two sites in the country’s southern state of Tamil Nadu.

One is a brownfield resort located in Uthandi, Chennai, and the other is a 100+-room conversion hotel in Hosur, an hour’s drive from Bangalore.

Swift openings

The two strategically located hotels are scheduled to open in a few months.

Both signings are intended to add strength to Fortune Hotels’ portfolio of 64 alliances across 54 Indian cities. As Fortune Hotels continues to grow its offerings in south India it will now have five alliances in Tamil Nadu – one each in Vellore, Ooty, Tiruppur, Chennai and Hosur.

Chennai concept

The first property, Fortune Beach Resort ECH Chennai in Uthandi, is sited on the area’s golden beach. Facilities will include aesthetically designed, spacious and well-appointed rooms, multiple food and beverage outlets including an all-day diner and a trendy bar and lounge.

It will also house a spacious banquet hall along with sprawling lawns and other modern amenities catering to both city residents and travellers.

Business base

The second site, Fortune Hosur, will have 107 rooms and suites and modern facilities designed to suit the present- day business traveller on a short or long stay.

Undergoing refurbishment as per Fortune brand standards, the hotel will showcase an all-day dining outlet, a speciality restaurant, bars, a spa and an outdoor swimming pool. Additionally, multiple banquet venues will enable the hotel to host corporate events and social functions.

Expansion path

Samir MC, MD of Fortune Hotels, said: “It is good to be on the path of expansion as envisaged by us early on. Both the Hosur and Chennai properties are poised to be fantastic additions to our portfolio, thereby strengthening our footprint in the enchanting state of Tamil Nadu.

“The choice of these locations was driven by their immense growth potential and strategic advantages. With these key additions, we once again demonstrate our dedication to providing guests with exceptional experiences in newer locations while maintaining the legacy of our existing properties.”
