IHG fills three key positions with new faces to keep flagship hotels in Dubai Festival City competitive.

InterContinental Hotels has announced three key appointments and promotions at its flagship properties in Dubai Festival City.

Tayoun promoted to Hotel Manager

Sayed Tayoun is now Hotel Manager at Holiday Inn Dubai Festival City. His story illustrates InterContinental’s commitment to retain and grow internal talent and pairing the right opportunity with the right candidate. Mr Tayoun has now been with IHG for 15 years and served in nine properties.

In his last role, Mr Tayoun served as Area Director of Sales and Marketing and contributed significantly to the growth of the IHG brand in Dubai Festival City.

His impressive results still crown internal leader boards and his restructuring efforts in the sales department made his property a role model for the entire region.

Borges named Area Director of Sales & Marketing

Mr Michael Borges has taken over as DOSM from Mr Tayoun. His 19 years’ experience in the hospitality industry have taken Mr Borges to various hotels across seven European nations.

Most recently, he worked as the Cluster DOSM at InterContinental Malta and was responsible for the group’s three hotels and a convention venue.

Previously, he gained experience in his field while working for properties including Waldorf Astoria, Hilton, The Romanos – Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Westin Resort in Greece. Borges first joined IHG in 2015 at the InterContinental Budapest in Hungary.

Khalife promoted to Cluster Director of Sales

Since starting her journey with IHG in 2007, Ms Juliana Khalife has played an important role in implementing new strategies to increase productivity and generate more revenue in the MICE department.

Her experience in the business development department, the conference and event sectors make her the ideal fit for the new position which requires her to ensure guests leave with memorable experiences all while achieving company goals and developing her team members.

Mathieu van Alphen, Area General Manager, said: “We are delighted to foster the guiding principles of IHG specifically the development of all of our talented people – we call this ‘Room to grow’. Also, we all look forward to the continued success of our flagship properties in Dubai Festival City.”
