Located near the majestic Karkonosze mountains, the newbuild Holiday Inn Resort Szklarska Poreba will feature 87 rooms, a wellness area, indoor and outdoor pools and a spa.

Created in partnership with AKME Wisniewski Szklarska Poreba, this new Holiday Inn Resort-branded scheme is expected to launch in 2022.

An idyllic location

Holiday Inn Resort Szklarska Poreba, whose signing has just been announced by IHG, will provide travellers with an appealing base for exploring the great outdoors, including the nearby Karkonosze mountains. The site lies within easy reach of Wroclaw Airport and boasts excellent road and rail connectivity.

“We are proud to bring the first Holiday Inn Resort to Poland,” said Willemijn Geels, vice president of development at IHG Hotels & Resorts. “This is a truly remarkable property and a great addition to the Holiday Inn brand family, which are the first choice for families and guests who want to explore a wide variety of activities with unbeatable access to some of the world’s most desirable locations – in this case the Happiness Valley area and its incredible mountains in Poland.

“Together with our partner AKME Wisniewski Szklarska Poreba, we are delighted to be bringing our Holiday Inn brand to one of Poland’s increasingly popular leisure destinations. We always aim to match the right brands with the right locations and Holiday Inn Resort Szklarska Poreba is another great example of the clear opportunities there are to expand the IHG Hotels & Resorts footprint in Europe.”

Wiktor Grzechocinski, partner at AKME Wisniewski Szklarska Poreba, added: “We are very excited to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies. Their vast industry experience and powerful enterprise will support the success of our new hotel at Szklarska Poreba. This has never been more important, and we look forward to building on our strong partnership and achieving success.”

Wellness and outdoor exploration

The newbuild resort will encompass 87 guestrooms and be part of the Horizon Hotel & Resort complex, which spans 1.5 hectares altogether and also features apartments as well as a recreation area.

Designed to cater for the leisure market, whether couples, families, friends or solo travellers, Holiday Inn Resort Szklarska Poreba will offer a range of activities enabling guests to escape from everyday life.

Guests can expect to find a wellness area, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, and extensive opportunities to engage in outdoor pursuits such as hiking, cycling and ski running. Families will also be able to make the most of the kids’ club and family entertainment programmes.

The Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts brand currently has over 1,230 hotels open globally, with almost 260 more set to launch over the next few years. Across all its brands, IHG has 15 hotels open in Poland and a further 21 under development.
