Recent and planned future growth sees the group expand its presence across the globe with openings spanning its broad spectrum of hotel brands.

In celebration of its development momentum and the start of the annual Hunter Hotel Investment Conference in Atlanta, USA, IHG released an update on its recent and forthcoming growth.

We continue to see strong growth in the Americas and around the world, notably among our suites brands and the Holiday Inn brand family and through the addition of exceptional luxury and lifestyle properties and brand debuts in key markets.”

Brand expansion
At this time, IHG highlighted notable milestones across the group’s growing global portfolio. Of the group’s Essentials brands, Holiday Inn Express has 110 signings adding to the largest brand of the group’s pipeline. Holiday Inn has welcomed 62 new hotels to its collection, with 50 Americas hotels slated for renovation in 2023, and avid hotels is due to welcome its 60th hotel this year, with an Americas pipeline of over 140 properties.
Among the group’s growing suites brands is Atwell Suites, which opened its first two hotels in 2022 and now has 11 new Americas signings to look forward to. A significant 142 hotels are in the pipeline for Staybridge Suites and the Candlewood Suites brand is set to increase its portfolio by one third with 124 hotels planned.
Voco hotels is IHG’s fastest growing Premium brand having opened more than 10,000 rooms across 18 countries within five years of its launch. Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts will expand by 26 percent, with 20 Americas properties planned for completion in 2023, and EVEN Hotels is on track to doubling its Americas presence with 10 hotels in the pipeline.
The group will also see growth across its luxury and lifestyle portfolio. Six Senses Hotels Resorts & Spas has eight new signings bringing its global pipeline to 38 hotels. Regent Hotels & Resorts is debuting its first Americas hotel in 2023, expanding its global collection to 19 open and pipeline hotels, and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has 90 hotels in the pipeline of which 10 are in the Americas.
IHG’s Vignette Collection is expanding its presence with a robust entrance to the Americas and new signings in China, Japan and Germany. Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has 10 new global signings increasing its global pipeline to 41 properties and Hotel Indigo is on track to reaching 200 hotels in the next three years. IHG’s first exclusive partner, Iberostar Beachfront Resorts, then adds to the group’s overall global pipeline with five new properties on the horizon.
