IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a franchise agreement with Sirayane Hospitality to develop Kimpton Marrakech, a luxury lifestyle hotel slated to open in Q4 2026. This marks the debut of the Kimpton brand in Morocco and expands IHG’s footprint in the country’s growing luxury market.
A new luxury destination
The 67-key Kimpton Marrakech will be located seven kilometers from Marrakesh–Menara Airport, just a short drive from the city’s Medina and Hivernage districts. The hotel will be situated in a tranquil area surrounded by scenic views of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, offering guests a private and one-of-a-kind escape.
The hotel’s design will reflect Kimpton’s signature style, featuring a distinctive blend of bold design, imaginative dining, and heartfelt hospitality. Guests can expect a range of amenities including a spa, fitness center, swimming pools, and a vibrant rooftop restaurant.
Expanding IHG’s luxury portfolio
Kimpton Marrakech will further cement Marrakech’s status as a luxury tourism destination. The city, known as the “Red City” for its rich cultural heritage, attracts a growing number of international visitors, accounting for around 25% of Morocco’s tourism. IHG’s continued expansion in Morocco aligns with the country’s rising demand for luxury accommodations and the government’s investment in the tourism sector.
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director for IHG’s operations in India, the Middle East, and Africa, expressed excitement about partnering with Sirayane Hospitality. He said, “Kimpton Marrakech will bring a bold, contemporary, and highly experiential luxury offering to one of the world’s most inspiring cities.”
Mehdi Bennani Smires, CEO of Sirayane Hospitality, echoed this sentiment, noting, “Marrakech is a global destination for luxury travel, and we look forward to developing a hotel that represents the avant-garde of luxury lifestyle hospitality in the city.”
IHG continues to build a strong pipeline across Morocco with its portfolio of luxury, lifestyle, and premium brands, capitalizing on the country’s growing tourism appeal.
