Kimpton St Honoré Paris, featuring the design talents of Charles Zana and Humbert & Poyet, marks the hotel brand’s long-awaited arrival into one of Europe’s most competitive markets.

This milestone property brings new life to a 1917 art nouveau building in Paris’ Opéra district, close to Place Vendôme, Faubourg St Honoré and the Tuileries Garden.

Reimagining a heritage property

The creation of Kimpton St Honoré Paris involved the transformation of the former Samaritaine de Luxe department store. French architect and interior designer Charles Zana took inspiration from the 1930s art deco scene for this sophisticated but relaxed space.

This property houses 123 guestrooms and 26 suites, which are inspired by Parisian apartments, with balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows and curated artworks. The staircase and wooden elevator are among the original features to have been faithfully restored.

Christophe Laure, area general manager for IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Paris is renowned for its art, design and rich culture, which is why it’s a great location for the newest Kimpton opening, a global flagship. Kimpton St Honoré Paris brings a new luxury offering to Paris – defying traditional boundaries with quiet confidence, easy-going elegance and the light-heartedness of Parisian chic.”

A new F&B hotspot

The hotel’s now aiming to become an unmissable stop for food and drink lovers. Much of the focus will be placed on the ground-floor Montecito Restaurant & Bar, pairing the interiors of Humbert & Poyet and an interior patio with a brasserie concept offering a contemporary take on the multicultural cuisine of America’s Pacific West Coast.

This restaurant is joined by tenth-floor rooftop bar and garden Sequoia, which commands views across the rooftops of Paris as well as landmarks like the Eiffel Tower. In a space designed by Charles Zana, guests can enjoy a plethora of wines, champagnes and signature Mai Tai cocktails.

In terms of wellness amenities, the property boasts an indoor heated swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness centre and spa run by French brand Codage.

Signature services at the hotel range from the Kimpton Morning Kickstart, including coffee from Parisian roasters LOMI and tea from Kusmi Tea, to the popular Kimpton Social Hour, giving travellers the opportunity to connect over complimentary drinks at 5pm each day. Guests can also borrow bikes to explore the local area and make the most of its pet offering, including luxury dog treats from Bonne & Filou.
