SM Group and IHG Hotels & Resorts have partnered to develop the first voco hotel in Fujian province - voco Xiamen SM city.

IHG Hotels & Resorts will be working to develop a hotel from its voco brand in Xiamen, a port city in Fujian.

A Xiamen coastal vista

Opening in the second half of 2025, this hotel will be located in the heart of Xiamen at the SM Xiamen complex.

Xiamen SM city will house 300 rooms and a wide range of amenities. This includes a full-service restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, versatile event spaces, an indoor heated swimming pool, and a fitness center.

The hotel will also be surrounded by coastal vistas and the rich Minnan culture in Xiamen.

Dedicated to Chinese growth

This signing ties in with Greater China’s national strategy to develop Fujian province. It enhances IHG’s presence in the southeastern region markets and further emphasises its long-term commitment to the Greater China market.

IHG was one of the first international hotel groups to enter Greater China, and has continued to grow its pipeline in the country.

Over the past four years in Greater China, voco has established a robust presence in key cities. These include Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Chengdu, and Lianyungang.
