IHCL inks first Vivanta in Jharkhand

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed its fourth hotel in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, moving its Vivanta brand into the eastern Indian state for the first time.

The site is a conversion and will be rebranded as Vivanta Jamshedpur after extensive renovations. It is due to become operational in 2024.

Strategically situated

The deal for the 94 key hotel, strategically situated on Golmuri Road in the centre of the city, was agreed with local real estate firm, Vijaya Homes Group.

Other facilities at the hotel will include an all-day diner, specialty and rooftop restaurants, bar, swimming pool and a fitness centre. It will also offer over 1,000 sq m of banqueting space spread across three halls.

Key market presence

Suma Venkatesh, executive vice president – real estate and development, IHCL said: “Jharkhand with its significant commercial potential is being recognised as an important state. This signing is in line with IHCL’s vision to be present in key markets.

“Vivanta Jamshedpur is a step in that direction, as it is amongst the largest cities of the state. With this hotel, IHCL will now have two of its brands in the city. We are delighted to partner with Vijaya Homes Group.”

World class hospitality

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have four hotels across Vivanta and Ginger brands in Jharkhand, including one under development. Other forthcoming Vivanta additions across India include Vivanta Gorakhpur in the nation’s north, a 110-key site which is part of a mixed-use development delivering in Q1 2024; while towards the south, the 450-room Vivanta by Taj Kempegowda International Airport is taking shape in Bengaluru for a 2025 completion; and in central India, Vivanta Indore will add 115 keys to the portfolio in Q1 2026.
