IHCL adds to luxury line in eastern India

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed an agreement with Ambuja Neotia Group for an addition to its luxurious Taj hotel portfolio in West Bengal.

Taj Ganga Kutir Resort & Spa will be located in Raichak, within the eastern Indian state, and set against the picturesque backdrop of the Ganges River.

Luxury and comfort blend

The high end hotel will encompass 155 well-appointed rooms blending luxury and comfort. The resort will offer multiple dining options, an all-day diner, Oriental and Bengali cuisine specialty restaurants to cater to diverse palates. The lounge bar and library bar will provide elegant spaces serving handcrafted beverages.

Furthermore, over 70,000 sq ft of banqueting space will include expansive riverside lawns to host conferences and social events. The resort will feature a gaming zone and an entertainment arcade.

Guests can also embrace health at J Wellness Circle Spa, with its wide-ranging holistic practices rooted in Indian healing traditions.

Immense potential

Eastern Indian expansion

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 10 hotels across Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta and Ginger brands across West Bengal including five under development. In eastern India, upcoming Taj openings include: the 66-room Taj Guras Kutir Gangtok in the northern state of Sikkim, due for completion in September; Taj Hotel at Ambuja City Centre, Patna, bringing 126 keys to nearby Bihar state in November; while the 91-room Taj Beach Resort Puri will follow in Q1 2024 on India’s north eastern shore.

IHCL has a portfolio of 270 hotels including 80 under development globally across four continents, 12 countries and in over 100 locations.
