IHCL adds a Vivanta to Thane

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed for a Vivanta branded hotel in Thane, within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The brownfield project is a part of a mixed use development spread over 14 acres that comprises multiple recreational choices, and is slated to open by 2025.

Strategically situated

The 122-key Vivanta by Taj Thane will be strategically situated in the Shilphata district, and is being developed by BK Holidays and Resorts Private Limited.

Facilities will include the signature all day diner Mynt, a bar, swimming pool and a fitness centre. It will also offer state-of-the-art banqueting space including a 400 sq m hall and meeting rooms.

Emerging market expansion

Suma Venkatesh, executive vice president – real estate and development, IHCL, said: “Thane is a leading business and industrial hub for the state of Maharashtra being a part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

More in Maharashtra

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 31 hotels across Taj, Vivanta, SeleQtions and Ginger brands in Maharashtra state including 10 under development.

One of the planned properties for the state is Vivanta Hotel Nashik, a 144-key site due in Q3 this year. Onsite dining options will include Mynt, the all-day dining restaurant; a specialty restaurant and bar. Recreational facilities will comprise a pool, fitness centre and spa. The hotel will also feature one of the city’s largest banqueting halls with meeting rooms and open areas for social and business gatherings.
