Hyatt Regency Thrissur opens in the Indian state of Kerala and welcomes both business and leisure guests with a well-rounded offering.

Kerala welcomes first Hyatt Regency hotel

The first hotel under the umbrella of Hyatt Regency Hotels has opened in Kerala. The state, often considered the cultural capital of India, will join 12 other locations across the subcontinent which are already home to Hyatt Regency properties.

According to the TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION online database, 158 hotel projects are currently in the pipeline in India:

Sunjae Sharma, vice president – India operations, Hyatt, lauded the opening of the Hyatt Regency Thrissur, saying, “We are thrilled to announce the opening of our very first Hyatt Regency hotel in the beautiful and vibrant state of Kerala. The Hyatt Regency brand caters to leisure as well as business travellers, which are steadily growing in the state.”

“This launch underlines the importance of the globally celebrated Hyatt Regency brand in India, which is now present in 13 cities across the country. True to the brand’s lineage, the all new Hyatt Regency Thrissur is the embodiment of contemporary accommodations designed for productivity and peace of mind,” Mr Sharma went on to say.

Business and leisure all under one roof

The new Hyatt Regency Thrissur is sure to become a landmark property in Kerala, given that it will appeal to both leisure and business travellers.

Its 77 rooms and suites are executed in a stylish manner synonymous with Hyatt Regency’s international standards of design and service. Guests will have the choice of 69 well-appointed guest rooms, or eight suites, each boasting expansive views of the gardens or the pool area.

For business travellers, the property is an ideal venue for conferences and corporate events. With over 2,500 sqm of meeting and event space, corporate guests will find everything they need to both host and impress clients and colleagues.

The hotel benefits from two ballrooms, an ante room and pre-function area, as well as a VIP lounge and several studios and more intimate meeting rooms.

Features and amenities

The hotel is conveniently located close to a number of Kerala’s major attractions, including multiple business parks which will be of potential interest to business travellers, and museums, galleries and retail outlets for leisure guests.

Visitors can also relax and rejuvenate at the Santata Spa and choose to replenish themselves at one of the hotel’s food and beverage venues. The hotel also has a fully equipped fitness centre, complete with a gym and an outdoor pool.
