A new 300-room hotel is on its way to Düsseldorf as part of a sustainability-focused mixed-use scheme designed by Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Tadao Ando.

Travellers will be able to explore Tadao Ando Campus & Tower at their leisure when Hyatt Place’s latest outpost opens its doors.

A symbiosis of technology and nature

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has entered into a franchise agreement with EuroAtlantic Group to open Hyatt Place Düsseldorf Mercedesstrasse as part of the Tadao Ando Campus & Tower development, which is being designed by Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Tadao Ando in collaboration with landscape architect Enzo Enea. The 300-room hotel will be located close to the city centre, international airport and Messe Düsseldorf conference centre.

This architecturally significant site representing a symbiosis of technology and nature will be home to the Dusseldorf Arts Club, the EuroAtlantic Museum for Digital Art and the Cyber Tech Campus, as well as the new Hyatt Place hotel.

Pairing style and innovation

Each property in Hyatt Place’s portfolio promises to combine style and innovation with 24/7 convenience for multitasking travellers. The visitor experience is designed around consumer insights indicating that guests are looking for a stylish, comfortable and seamless stay accommodating their lifestyle and routine.

Felicity Black-Roberts, Hyatt’s vice president of development in Europe, said: “The plans for Hyatt Place Düsseldorf Mercedesstrasse reflect the brand’s strong momentum in the fast-growing select service category as Hyatt Place hotels continue to expand globally. Düsseldorf is one of Germany’s most important economic centres, bolstered by recent international investments including from the China Competence Centre, making the district a perfect platform for us to bring our second Hyatt Place hotel to Germany.

CO2-neutral construction

Arnulf Damerau, chairman of EuroAtlantic Group, said: “We are pleased to be bringing the first Hyatt Place hotel to Düsseldorf as part of our Tadao Ando Campus & Tower development and we hope to further expand our collaboration with Hyatt with more hotels in the future. We are proud of our completely CO2-neutral construction and operation. The wider development will furthermore build on future-oriented ecological spaces that foster a healthy living and working environment.

“Together with our extensive experience in real estate and Hyatt’s global brand recognition we will be able to deliver a prestigious sustainable development with cutting-edge technology and high-quality service that will successfully bring this business and lifestyle hub to life.”

Hyatt Place Düsseldorf Mercedesstrasse is scheduled to open in 2024.
