A new complex in Ho Chi Minh City will feature the first dual-branded Hyatt project in Southeast Asia opening by 2023.

Hyatt has brought together two of its brands, Hyatt Place and Hyatt House, in a new development in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The two hotels will be in the District 7 area and will make up the group’s first dual-branded project in Southeast Asia, as well as the first Hyatt House property in Vietnam.

We find out more.

Hyatt brings a dual-branded project to Vietnam

International hotel group Hyatt has signed a deal with local construction investment company Xuan Mai to develop a 300-key Hyatt Place hotel and a 250-key Hyatt House hotel in District 7, one of Ho Chi Minh City’s largest and most affluent neighbourhoods.

This will mark the entry of Hyatt House into Vietnam, as well as the first dual-branded Hyatt project in Southeast Asia. The hotels are due to open in 2023 and will form part of the 34-acre Eco Green Saigon mixed-use development, which will be home to commercial, retail, entertainment, residential, education and corporate facilities.

David Udell, group president Asia-Pacific for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, spoke of the development, saying, “We are delighted to be working with Xuan Mai to develop Hyatt’s first dual-branded select-service hotel project featuring the Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands in Southeast Asia.”

“Whether guests are looking for short-term or extended-stay accommodations, the location of Hyatt Place Saigon, District 7 and Hyatt House Saigon, District 7 will put them in the heart of an up-and-coming residential, commercial and entertainment district that is well-connected to Ho Chi Minh City’s central business district.”

Comfort, style and excitement at Hyatt Saigon

The two Hyatt properties will cater to every type of guest who wishes to spend time in Ho Chi Minh City. The Hyatt Place Saigon will welcome both business travellers and tourists who are in town for a short time, either on business or for pleasure.

Hyatt House Saigon will appeal to guests looking for extended stay facilities and will offer studios and one-bedroom suites with shared facilities such as a fitness centre, an outdoor pool and a meeting room. Both properties will be housed in a 69-storey tower which will be one of the defining elements of the city’s skyline.

Patrick Finn, Senior Vice President – Development, Asia-Pacific for Hyatt, said, “With this signing, Hyatt is set to more than triple its brand presence in Vietnam over the next few years, and we are delighted to now offer locals and travellers additional accommodation options across the country, as well as have an opportunity to further solidify Hyatt’s brand presence in Ho Chi Minh City.”

‘“This project also presents Hyatt with an ideal opportunity to launch the Hyatt House brand in Vietnam’s gateway city that has the potential to be a catalyst for further Hyatt Place and Hyatt House developments in the country,” Mr Finn concluded.

As we continue to grow, we don’t lose sight of what’s most important—people. Hyatt is a company that was built by family.
