The Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that the Hotel SOFIA Barcelona will join The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.
The property marks a first for Hyatt in Barcelona and its third in Spain overall.
The Hotel SOFIA Barcelona features 465 rooms as well as an enviable location on the Avenida Diagonal, which is one of Barcelona’s main thoroughfares, running through the heart of the vibrant city.
The hotel property was originally named after Princess Sofia, wife of the former King of Spain Juan Carlos I. Over the years, the Hotel SOFIA Barcelona has earned a reputation of hosting dignitaries as well as visiting heads of state.
The hotel’s rich history, as well as its contemporary and luxurious design touches, perfectly blend into The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand’s signature, creating unforgettable experiences for guests, observers said.
“We are thrilled to welcome guests to the first Hyatt hotel in Barcelona,” Felipe Espinoza, general manager of the hotel, said. “Hotel SOFIA Barcelona has long been a symbol of glamour and luxury in the area. Its rich history and stunning architecture will deliver an unforgettable stay for the modern traveler.”
The hotel’s 465 rooms have been completely renovated with sophisticated and tasteful design.
The hotel is also home to 18 luxury suites, five dining options, and a live dinner experience that boasts actors, dancers and singers every night. Leisure experiences at the hotel include a Mediterranean-inspired spa, the SOFIA Oasis Wellness & Spa, and a tropical garden pool.
Suites that guests can choose from include the So Suite, which features open space, a living room, a bathroom with a bathtub and more. Every suite in the hotel comes complete with stunning city views of Barcelona and the brand’s “As You Wish” services, which provide guests with amenities such as a 24-hour butler, welcome gifts, and more.
The Hotel SOFIA Barcelona is also home to one of the largest meeting spaces in the entire city, including a convention hall that seats more than 1,000, as well as 22 separate multi-purpose meeting rooms spread across two floors. With natural light and the latest technology, this venue is one capable of catering to every request—business or pleasure.
